Sun Metals is making waves by supporting local initiatives that have a real impact on our environment. One standout project is the Museum of Underwater Art (MOUA) — a not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of the Great Barrier Reef through art, education, and conservation.

When MOUA reached out to Sun Metals about donating four 25-kilogram zinc anode blocks to help maintain the MOUA Coral Greenhouse, the decision was simple. These zinc blocks are essential in preserving the stunning underwater installation located at John Brewer Reef, offshore from Townsville, and the marine life it supports.

"We are thrilled to contribute to MOUA's efforts in protecting the Great Barrier Reef and supporting marine conservation," said Jessica Jenkins, Manager HR & Communications at Sun Metals. "The Coral Greenhouse is not only an artistic marvel but also an important symbol of education and environmental stewardship."

The zinc anode blocks will play a crucial role in preventing corrosion of the installation, ensuring the longevity of the artwork and the protection of the surrounding marine environment.

Sun Metals encourages other businesses to get involved and support this remarkable cause. Whether through materials, funding, or advocacy, every contribution helps further the mission of preserving one of the world’s greatest natural wonders.
